Tinto Negro Finca La Escuela Malbec, Argentina

Finca La Escuela is in Altamira, the premiere region for Malbec. It is named for the rural school (Escuela) located on the property. Always more complete and nuanced than the Malbecs from the individual soils, it has the floral varietal character and the chalkiness of the Paraje Altamira limestone soils. It has very good freshness and very fine tannins, in a rare combination of power and elegance.

Cloudy Bay Te Wahi Pinot Noir, Central Otago, New Zealand

The Te Wahi Central Otago Pinot Noir is dark and intense. On the nose, you’ll find dusky brambles, wild strawberries and hints of violet.

The palate is elegant and abounds with damson and hedgerow fruit. Dense tannins and vibrant freshness bring tension, balance and clarity, drawing to a long and focused finish.
