Details

Santo Isidro de Pegoes is one of the most forward thinking co-operatives in Portugal and their chief winemaker, Jaime Quendera, skillfully blends the warm native varities of Castelao, Tourgia Nacional and Trincadeira with international grapes such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah to produce wines bursting with flavour.

Pegões is distinguished by a unique “Terroir”. It is characterized by the combination of poor sandy soils rich in water, with the Mediterranean climate on the proximity of the Atlantic sea. This combination creates a perfect harmony that brings an excellent environment to the development of our noble grapes.

Santo Isidro Fontanário de Pegões is ruby in colour, intense aroma of red berries, well combined with new oak while young. An aroma of dry fruits, chocolate, spices and coffee.

A smooth and juicy wine, soft in the mouth with very good tannins and structure. Lingering after taste.
