    M.A.N. Skaapveld Shiraz, South Africa

    50% matured in oak barrels for 12 months, the remainder used. It has a composed blackberry and cassis-scented bouquet with a subtle floral note that develops in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, nicely judged acidity and well-integrated oak that allows the dark berry fruit to show through. There is a hint of white pepper on the aftertaste, completing a well-made Syrah that should drink well for 3-4 years.

    A distinctive medium to full-bodied Shiraz, juicy and complex. A real mouth-filling wine, the spicy and floral savoury aromas are balanced by ripe fruit flavours and fine tannins on the palate.

    Complement slow-cooked casseroles, game and barbequed foods.

    Skaapveld refers to the grazing land for sheep that adjoins many of the Shiraz vineyards in our region.

    Warrelwind Sauvignon Blanc has a clean and fresh bouquet that leans more towards the tropical rather than herbaceous spectrum of aromas. The palate is very well balanced with a grassy opening, Granny Smith apples and gooseberry notes leading to a lively, harmonious finish. This is very fine.

    Jan Fiskaal (fiscal shrike) is a small bird with a fierce reputation for driving out pests in the vineyards.
    This merlot expresses pure red cherries and fresh strawberry aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, just a light brushing of cocoa here, with a nicely composed, quite elegant finish.

    This medium-bodied wine will be wonderful just by itself or paired with roast chicken, lamb stew, lasagne and BBQ's.

    The grapes for the Chenin Blanc come from 30-year old bush vines grown on shale hill slopes. On the appearance this wine is golden yellow hue with a tinge of green. Intense aromas of apricots and canned white peaches with touches of vanilla and coconut oil from the oaking. The palate is packed with ripe yellow fruit and other tropical flavours, with balanced, refreshing acidity and a long mineral finish.
